Watercolor

A study of watercolor. The tendency with rendering in any medium is to over pronounce the suggestion of the textile.  The intention with these images is to show the beauty in leaving a bit undone, but not neglected.  Conveying energy through the stroke, and ease in the negative spaces.

Kings of Freedom

Inspiration for this capsule came from the

Azadi Tower in Tehran, Iran.  The beauty of

the coffered ceilings as smocking, marble in-lay as chiffon inserts, etched stone as micro pleats and pintucks.

Each element of the capsule can be deconstructed for a more wearable, commercial piece.

The pencil sketch at left is a concept lead that directly informs the other pieces to the right.

Medium: watercolor and colored pencil
